Nestled on the fringing Great Barrier Reef of Tropical North Queensland just 45 minutes from cairns by ferry. Fitzroy island is literally where the rainforest meets the reef. This brand new resort offers affordable studios, One & Two Bedroom Apartments and Beach Cabins.

Surrounded by natural beauty, the resort has been carefully designed to complement the spectacular natural setting of the Great Barrier Reef. On one side you will find majestic rainforest, and on the other vast expanses of crystal clear ocean.

The resort offers luxury and elegance, island-style. Designed with warm timbers, natural stone, elegant water features and mood lighting, it's stylish and sophisticated with all the features you’d expect of a modern up-market resort.

Resort Room are quite spacious. They are tiled throughout and feature tea / coffee making facilities and a marble bathroom with walk-in shower. These rooms can sleep a maximum of 2 people in King or Twin bedding. 

Beachfront Cabins are stand alone cabins in pods of 2 and are just a stones throw away from the waters edge.  The Beachfront Cabins are a slightly larger version of the Resort Studio Rooms.  They feature tea / coffee making facilities, a marble ensuite with walk-in shower and they also feature a balcony which is perfect for relaxing on at the end of the day.  The Beachfront Cabins sleep 2 people in King or Twin Bedding.  They can also be made into a 2 Bedroom configuration which can sleep a maximum of 4. 

One Bedroom Ocean Suites feature large queen-size master bedrooms, a spacious lounge area, ensuite bathroom with shower,  lounge and dining area and private balcony, which are ideally located parallel to the beachfront. Just a cluster of tropical palms shade your view of the magnificent ocean. Sleeps up to 4 guests. 

Two Bedroom Ocean Suites are a combination of both the apartment and the hotel room to provide for a two bedroom apartment which is great for families or friends wishing to share accommodation, sleeps up to 6 guests.

The Four Bedroom Penthouse sleeps 6 adults and a maximum of 8 at additional cost. This luxurious apartment is paradise on earth, spectacular ocean views from two large balconies with a king size bed in the master, ensuite with spa bath, and additional 2 x queen beds and 2 x single beds.

Fitzroy Island is covered with magnificent rainforest and features many walking tracks ranging from a short stroll to Nudey Beach through to a more challenging hike to the Summit.  The island is surrounded in beautiful fringing reefs which are teeming with marine life. The best snorkelling is off the rocks between Welcome Bay and Nudey Beach. Expect to see Turtles, tropical fish and many colourful corals.  There is a beach hire hut that is open through out the day where you are able to hire kayaks, snorkelling equipment etc. The resort itself has a fabulous pool, swim up pool bar, cinema and small supermarket that stocks the basics.  Please note that if you do intend on self catering, it may be an idea to bring some food with you from the mainland.

Getting There:
Fitzroy Island is located approx 35 kilometres south east of Cairns. A ferry ride from the Cairns marina takes approximately 45 minutes, departing daily at 10am and 4:40pm return. The cost is $65 return per person.  Please be mindful when booking flights of these times. 
Luggage allowance is 1 piece of luggage per person. Any extra is an additional $5 per item.
