Wavelength Reef Snorkelling Cruise visits three snorkelling sites in one day. The aim is to vary the reef sites so as to show off the amazing diversity of the Great Barrier Reef.

Departure:
Boarding commences at 8:15am from Berth C7 at Marina Mirage for a 8:30am boat depature, returning at 4:30pm.

Your Day:
After boarding and a cup of tea or coffee, your day starts with a brief introduction to the reef and a few hints on how to get the most out of the day. You will then depart on the 90-minute trip to the edge of the continental shelf, passing Low Isles en route. If you are lucky you might spot dolphins, whales (seasonal) or manta rays along the way.

On arrival at the chosen reef site, the crew will take time to fit everyone out with high quality gear, share some tips on snorkelling, and give special attention to first time snorkellers.

Once in the water guests are free to explore the wonders of the reef alone or join the guides.

A first experience to the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef is often quite overwhelming, and snorkel advisers are on hand to answer the hundreds of questions that follow shortly thereafter!

After morning tea, the boat will move to another one of the many sites chosen to suit the conditions on the day.

Guided Snorkelling Tour:
The guided snorkelling tour allows the biologists to help snorkellers discover aspects of the new site that might otherwise be missed, and to point out the multitude of life forms found under water.
On a guided snorkel tour it is possible to view many creatures and plants, meet schools of large fish or even turtles, and drift over colourful giant clam gardens.

Snorkellers may even participate in the Marine Park Authority funded research and monitoring program, which Wavelength conducts as a commitment to sustainable management of the reef.

Lunch:
The delicious deli-style lunch includes a range of salads, chicken, beef, ham and rolls. Also available onboard are water, soft drinks, cordial, coffee and tea.
Once everyone's appetites have been satisfied and all questions answered, you will head to the final site of the day for you last experience of the marine world.
Following afternoon tea, relax and enjoy the return journey with the wonderful view of the sun dropping down to the rainforest clad mountains.

Arrival time to Port Douglas is approximately 4.30pm.

The Wavelength is a 56 foot (18 metre) monohull that is custom designed for snorkelling on the reef. With a survey to carry 30 passengers and 3 crew per vessel, there is always plenty of space on board.
