Trip Itinerary:

Thursday: Around 07:30am this morning the Spirit of Freedom courtesy coach will transfer you from your Cairns city hotel to Cairns airport. Here you will board a twin-engine light aircraft for your scenic flight over the reef to Lizard Island. Spirit of Freedom crew will greet you on arrival and escort you via tender to the vessel. After an orientation of the vessel we depart for Ribbon Reef Number 10. This afternoon you will have the opportunity for two or three dives at a choice of sites including the Cod Hole, Challenger Bay , Lighthouse Bommie, Pixie Wall, and Pixie Pinnacle. We depart in the evening for an 8 hour journey to Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea .

Friday & Saturday: Osprey Reef. Australia’s Coral Sea reefs are renown for crystal clear water with average visibility in excess of 100 feet. Two days can be spent diving at Osprey Reef, including North Horn, well known for its shark action. You can expect to see grey whalers, silvertips, reef sharks, occasional hammerheads, schooling barracuda, trevally, and other pelagics. The landscape is amazing with sheer walls laced with gorgonians, sea whips, and bright yellow soft corals, rising from thousands of feet below.

Sunday:
Option 1: Today return to the Ribbon Reefs Number 3 to dive sites such as the sensational Steve’s Bommie, Temple of Doom, and Flare Point. On Sunday evening cruise overnight back to Cairns
Option 2: Still in the Coral Sea, weather depending you will have the opportunity to dive Bougainville Reef.

Monday: Arrive back into Cairns at 06:30am. Enjoy your last breakfast on board, before Spirit of Freedom transfer you back to your Cairns hotel around 07:30am.

The Cabins
Accommodating up to 26 guests, Spirit of Freedom has 11 spacious air-conditioned cabins all with private bathroom. A range of cabin types is available and the three premium cabin types contain TV/ DVD and CD player.

The Meals
Our chefs provide first class meals and can cater to specific dietary requirements. Enjoy Australian and international cuisines and four meals a day. Australian wine and soft drinks are complimentary with the evening meal.

The Reef Flight
Your trip will include a 120 mile one way low level flight from Lizard Island back to Cairns.  Flying low over the Great Barrier Reef …. a spectacular way to end your dive cruise!

• Access to the Cod Hole and the Coral Sea is tide and weather conditional.
• Due to light aircraft weight restrictions, your total luggage weight is limited to 20 kilograms/ 45 lb per person.
• We request that bags be soft sided.
• Full gear rental packages are available including dive computer and torch.
• Nitrox Diving, PADI advanced course & selected specialty courses are also available.
• $100 discount applies to snorkellers and non-divers, both very welcome on this liveaboard.
• A Marine Park Levy of $15 per trip is payable directly on board.
