The Top Deck Escape onboard Reef Encounter offers a definitive package in luxury accommodation on the Great Barrier Reef. It is designed to meet the expectations of the most discerning of guests, offering an unhurried, relaxed ambience.

Reef Encounter is a luxury catamaran designed for the utmost stability and comfort at sea. Popular for its fine features, Reef Encounter is air-conditioned throughout with spacious decks, large dining and recreation areas.

Level One accommodates Top Deck Club clientele. The modern Staterooms are fully air-conditioned with private ensuites and picture windows with stunning views out to the reef. Luxurious touches such as crisp Australian bed linen, silk doona, cotton sheets and feather down pillows adorn the oversized double beds. Soft fluffy robes, plush bath sheets and Australian beauty products are replenished daily.

Upon arrival guests are greeted by crew and invited to share delicious fruit platters and a glass of Australian champagne. The magic begins each day when the reef awakens. Perhaps an early morning dive, a revitalising swim or relaxing spa. Breakfast is served to your suite.

The reef has a personality of its own and crew members are on hand to provide whatever assistance is required in and out of the water. Personal dive/snorkel guides will assist with fitting of fins and dive/snorkel gear, providing guests with an aquatic adventure remembered for a lifetime. Top Deck clients are always accompanied by a guide when diving or snorkelling.

Visit Norman, Saxon and Hastings Reef known for their spectacluar corals, exotic fish as well as plenty of caves, swim throughs and drop offs.  The large easy access water platform allows for hassle free diving and snorkelling. The fully equipped dive deck is situated at the stern end of the vessel whilst towards the bow is an idyllic heated spa.

Level two onboard Reef Encounter features a large spacious lounge and dining area. This area has a licensed bar and lounge, complete with television and video/DVD facilities.

When the day draws to a close the Captain will join guests for sunset cocktails. All gourmet meals are freshly prepared onboard allowing the chef to provide interesting and unique culinary delights with Australian and exotic ingerdients accompanied by a fine selection of Australian wines and beers. All dietry requirements will be met.

With friendly and experienced crew onboard to look after your needs, Reef Encounter Top Deck Club makes the ultimate diving, snorkelling and liveaboard experience on the Great Barrier Reef. The vessel can accommodate up to 60 passengers and offers many of the extras you associate with five star reef tours.

Getting There:
Reef Encounter is permanently moored on the Great Barrier Reef. Transfers and returns to Reef Encounter are conducted daily via Compass Cruises.

"Compass" departs Marlin Jetty at 7.45am and meets with Reef Encounter at Hastings Reef at approx. 10.30am. Return transfers via Compass depart Reef Encounter at 1.15pm on the final day and arrive back into Cairns at approx. 5.45pm.

Heli Transfers:
Why not arrive in Top Deck style with a Heli-Transfer. Helicopter transfers are a wonderful way to view the Great Barrier Reef from a different perspective. Reef Encounter is the only vessel on the Great Barrier Reef with an onboard helipad.

Helicopter transfers are available either one way or return  landing directly onboard the helipad. Please let us know if you would like a quote for this experience.
